Killasta haetaan kahta edustajaa ja kahta varaedustajaa vuoden 2024 Teekkarikokouksiin!
Mikä Teekkarikokous?
Teekkarikokouksen tarkoituksena on olla yleinen ja helposti lähestyttävä keskustelufoorumi, joka kokoaa yhteen Otaniemen teekkariyhdistykset. Kokous on Otaniemen ylin teekkarien asioista päättävä elin, ja sillä on AYY:n edustajiston mandaatti päättää teekkarikulttuuriin liittyvistä asioista. Teekkarikokous järjestetään tänä vuonna neljättä vuotta, ja vuoden aikana tarkoituksena on järjestää kolme Teekkarikokousta. Vuoden ensimmäinen kokous pidetään 8.5., toinen syys-lokakuussa ja kolmas marras-joulukuussa. Olennaisia keskustelunaiheita tämän vuoden kokouksissa odotetaan olevan teekkarien tunnustyöryhmän seuraaminen (työryhmän tarkoituksena olisi tehdä mm. teekkarilakille ja teekkarinauhalle tunnusohjeet), Tempauksen seuraaminen sekä Teekkarijaoston ja Pyöreän tornin killan kuulumisten läpikäynti. Kokouksen puheenjohtajana toimii Juuso Määttä ja varapuheenjohtajana Henri Brax.
Kokouksissa kaikilla AYY:n jäsenillä on läsnäolo-oikeus, mutta puheoikeus on rajattu kiltojen* nimittämille edustajille (sekä Teekkarijaostolle, Pyöreän tornin killalle, AYY:n hallitukselle, toiminnanjohtajalle ja edustajiston puheenjohtajalle). Killoilla on Teekkarikokouksessa kaksi edustajaa ja kaksi varaedustajaa, jotka edustavat killan näkemyksiä kokouksessa ja jotka toimivat yhteyshenkilöinä killan ja Teekkarikokouksen välillä.

Edustajien päättäminen
Aikaisemmin Fyysikkokilta on päättänyt raadin kokouksessa edustajat erikseen joka Teekkarikokoukseen. Teekkarikokouksen puolelta on toivottu, että jatkossa killat nimittäisivät edustajat koko vuoden ajaksi, mikä mahdollistaisi matalamman kynnyksen tiedonkulun ja esim. kaikkien kiltojen edustajien yhteisen keskusteluryhmän perustamisen.
Fyysikkokillasta etsitäänkin vuodelle 2024 Teekkarikokoukseen kahta edustajaa varahenkilöineen. Edustajien tehtävänä on mm. kartoittaa kiltalaisten näkemyksiä Teekkarikokousten aiheista, viedä kokouksiin kiltalaisten ehdottamia aiheita sekä edustaa kiltaa vuoden 2024 Teekkarikokouksissa, ja he saavat hyvin vapaat kädet siihen, miten lähtevät kehittämään roolia. Myös varaedustajat voivat olla monesta asiasta vastuussa ja tehdä tiivistä yhteistyötä varsinaisten edustajien kanssa, vaikka itse kokouksissa heillä ei ole puheoikeutta muulloin kuin varsinaisen edustajan ollessa estyneenä.

Haku sulkeutuu lauantaina 23.3., minkä jälkeen raati päättää edustajat varahenkilöineen ja nimittää heidät killan toimihenkilöiksi. Jatkossa edustajat pyritään valitsemaan killan toimihenkilöhaussa loppuvuodesta.

We are looking for two representatives and two vice-representatives to represent our guild in the 2024 Technical Student Meeting!
Technical Student Meeting, what’s that?
The Technical Student Meeting (better known as the Teekkari Council) aims to be a common, easily approachable discussion forum for the Teekkari associations of Otaniemi. It’s the highest body deciding on Aalto University Student Union’s (AYY) technical student activities and culture, and has a mandate issued by AYY to decide on related issues. More information about the Meeting can be found in the Technical Student Meeting Regulation of AYY.
This year, the Technical Student Meeting will be organized for the fourth year, and three meetings are planned for the year. The first meeting of the year will be held on the 8th of May, the second in September-October and the third in November-December. Important topics of this year’s meetings may include the symbols of technical students (related to the working group that has been formed to write regulations for the usage of the teekkari cap and ribbon, for example), following Tempaus and exchanging information with the Teekkari Section and the Guild of the Round Tower. The current chair of the meeting is Juuso Määttä and the vice-chair is Henri Brax.
All AYY members are welcome to attend the meetings, but the right to speak is limited to guild* representatives (and the Teekkari Section, the Jury of the Guild of the Round Tower, AYY Board Members, Executive Director and the Chair of the Representative Council). Guilds have two representatives and two vice-representatives at the Technical Student Meeting, with the responsibility of representing the views of the guild and acting as contact persons between the guild and the Technical Student Meeting.
*Guild here refers to any member of the Technical Student Meeting, as defined by the Technical Student Meeting Regulation.
Choosing the representatives
Previously, the Guild of Physics has chosen the representatives in a board meeting separately for each Technical Student Meeting. However, the Technical Student Meeting wishes to move in a direction where the guilds name their representatives for a full year at a time, allowing information to be passed between the parties more efficiently, and for example creating a common discussion group for the representatives of each guild.
The board is now seeking two representatives and two vice-representatives of the Guild of Physics for the 2024 Technical Student Meeting. The representatives should survey the views of the guild members on the topics of the Technical Student Meeting, put forth possible suggestions of new topics before the meetings and be ready to represent the guild at the meetings, but will have a lot of freedom about how they’ll start to develop the role. The vice-representatives can also carry out many responsibilities and collaborate with the actual representatives, though not having the right to speak at the meetings unless acting on behalf of the actual representative.
So if you are interested in advancing the Teekkari activities in Otaniemi, apply as a representative with the below form! Note that the representatives must be members of both AYY and the Guild of Physics. Note also that the meetings are held in Finnish and Swedish (AYY official languages), even though the materials are published also in English.

The deadline for applying is Saturday 23rd March, after which the board will choose the representatives and vice-representatives, who will also be named as guild officials. In the future, the representatives will be chosen at the end of the year as part of the regular guild official election.
