Mahtavaa että fyssalla on näillä näkymin ensi vuonnakin fuksikapteenit! Ajattelin avata kipparien kysymyspelin kysymällä teiltä kauhean vaikeita kysymyksiä, eli sellaisia joihin ei ole oikeita vastauksia :0
Aloitetaan kuitenkin helpolla: kissat vai koirat? Toinen kysymys: Jos olisi kolme asiaa, jotka voisit fukseillesi välittää, mitkä ne olisivat? Ja ettei menisi ihan liian vakavaksi niin otetaan vielä kolmas: mikä on paras kellotettava?
Jos miettii onko aikaa vastava näihin kaikkiin, niin suosittelen keskittymään vaikka kysymykseen numero kaksi. Muistakaa nauttia muustakin kuin vaalihumusta seuraavien viikkojen aikana, teillä on vaikka mitä siistiä edessä <3

It’s great to see that our guild is going to have fuksi captains next year too! I thought I’d open your question game by asking you some terribly difficult questions, i.e. questions that have no right answers :0
But let’s start with this easy one: cats or dogs? Second question: If there were three things you could pass on to your fuksis, what would they be? And to not get too serious, let’s take the third one: what’s the best things to kellottaa?
If you’re wondering whether you have time to answer all of these, I suggest you choose number two to focus on. Don’t forget to enjoy other things than the election buzz over the next few weeks, you’ve all got a lot of cool stuff ahead of you <3

kiitos kysymyksistä! Alkuun on pakko sanoa, että olen itse ehdottomasti koiraihminen.
Sitten tärkeämpiin aiheisiin. Jos voisin välittää kolme asiaa fukseilleni, ne olisivat Fyssan yhteenkuuluvuuden tunne, rakkaus teekkariutta kohtaan ja tärkeimpänä fiilis siitä, että kaikesta ei tarvitse selvitä itse. Tekisin kaikkeni sen eteen, että fuksit eivät kokisi jäävänsä asioiden kanssa yksin. Fuksien tukena tulee olla paitsi fuksikapteenit myös ISOt, vanhemmat kiltalaiset ja kanssafuksit. Kaikki muuttuu helpommaksi, kun on ihmisiä ympärillä. Porukassa on sitten mukavampi syventyä teekkariperinteisiinkin!

thanks for the questions! First off, I must say I’m definitely a dog person.
Then on to more important topics. If I could pass on three things to my fuksis, they would be the sense of belonging within the Guild of Physics, a love for teekkari culture, and, most importantly, the reassurance that no one has to manage everything alone. I’d do everything in my power to make sure the fuksis don’t feel like they’re on their own. Fuksis should be supported not just by the Fuksi Captains, but also by BIGs, older guild members, and fellow fuksis. Everything becomes easier when you’ve got people around you. And it’s more fun to dive into teekkari culture when you’re part of a group!

Koirat, koske ne on mutkattomia. Koirissa on tavallaan kaikki ihmisen hyvät puolet, mutta ne eivät vain osaa puhua :( ja voivat olla vähän hölmöjä. Kissat on salaperäisiä ja viakkaita. En ole tehnyt lähempää tuttavuutta niiden kanssa.
Ongelmien kanssa ei saa jäädä yksin. Avun pyytäminen ja auttaminen ovat osa meidän kiltaa ja teekkariyhteisöä.
Teekkariuden ytimessä on yhdessä tekeminen ja hauskanpito.
Myös oman killan ulkopuolelta löytyy Otaniemestä paljon hyviä tyyppejä. Me emme ole niin erilaisia kuin muut.
Valitsisin jonkun halvan oluen, koska ne ei muutenkaan maistu kovin hyvältä. Parempi juoda se nopee :D

Dogs, because they are more straightforward. They kind of have the best features of humans but they can’t talk :( and are sometimes a bit goofy. Cats are mysterious and stealthy. I have not made acquaintance with them.
Don’t be alone with your problems. Asking for help and helping is part of our guild and teekkari community.
The heart of teekkarius is working together and having fun!
You can also find amazing people from other guilds in Otaniemi. We are not so different after all.
I’d choose a cheap beer. They don’t taste very good so it’s better to just down it quickly :D
Ensimmäisenä on tietysti vastattava kaikkein tärkeimpään. Monet saattokin jo mun esittelytekstistä bongata tän, mutta vastaukseni on ehdottomasti kissat! (Liitän loppuun söpön kissakuvan kaikkien päivän piristykseksi)
Asioita joita haluaisin fukseille välittää on ihan todella paljon, mutta kolme tärkeintä ehkä nämä:
Yhteisöllisyyden tunne. On se sitten killan tai muiden järjestöjen kautta niin pidän ehdottoman tärkeänä, että jokainen löytää oman paikkansa ja porukkansa.
Tunne siitä että he ovat lämpimästi tervetulleita omina itsenään. Yks hienoimpii juttui täällä on ollu että on nii paljo erilaisii ihmisii ja kaikki hyväksytään mukaan.
Kippareina me ollaan täällä just fukseja varten ja haluisin välittää fukseille fiiliksen siitä, että meiltä voi pyytää apua mihin vaan. Tyhmiä/turhia kysymyksiä ei oo olemassa :)
Mitä kellottamiseen tulee, tämä on tilanteesta riippuvaista. Jos rajataan vastaus 0.33l tölkkeihin, niin valitsen aina kivennäisveden. Mutta jos sallitaan myös muiden kellotettavien valitseminen niin sekä kurkuttaminen(kurkun kellotus) että pillittäminen (pillimehun kellotus) ovat ehdottomasti hauskoja kellotuksen muotoja.

First I must of course answer the most important one. As many might have noticed from my introduction text, the answer is definitely cats! (I’ll attach a cute catpic to the end, to brighten up your day)
There’s a lot of things that I’d like to pass on to my fuksis, but these might be the three most important:
A sense of community. Whether it’s the Guild or another organization, I find it really important that everyone finds their own place and group.
The feeling that they are warmly welcome and that they can freely be themselves here. One of the most wonderful things here has been that there’s so many different people and they are all accepted.
As the Captains we’re here for the fuksis and I’d like them to feel like they can ask us help for anything with a low threshold. Dumb/insignificant questions do not exist :)
And when it comes to kellottaminen, it depends on the situation. If it’s limited to only 0.33l cans, I’ll always pick sparkling water. But if other kellotettavat are also allowed, I find both cucumber kellotus and juice box kellotus to be really fun ways to kellottaa.

Kakkoskysymykseen mulla on kolme ponttia (ei missään varsinaisessa järjestyksessä):
Fukseille tulisi välittyä ajatus siitä, että fuksikapteenit ovat aina valmiina auttamaan heitä, eikä auttaminen tuota kapteeneille vaivaa – päinvastoin, aina on ilo auttaa.
Killan roolin haluaisin välittyvän nimenomaan kannustavana itsensä kehittämisen ympäristönä, jossa saa kokeilla ja epäonnistua: niin opinnoissa kuin vaikka (fuksi)toimikunnissakin. Yliopistoaikana opetellaan taitoja, jotka kantavat läpi elämän ja usein uusien asioiden oppimiseksi on ensin yritettävä.
Fukseille tulisi välittyä se vilpitön yhteisöllisyys, johon olen itse tykästynyt Otaniemessä: erityisesti killan sisällä, mutta myös kiltojen välillä ja koko Teekkariyhteisön tasolla.
Kellotukseen valitsen oikeastaan mitä tahansa – usein jotain poreilevaa tölkistä -, mutta paatuneena kellotusmasokistina minun on vastattava Hartwallin Double Salted Vichy, tuttavallisemmin Mörkö-vichy.

I am a cat person, no question there. Heck, I even have two at home
For the second question I have three points (in no particular order):
The fuksis should feel like their Fuksi Captains are always ready to help them and that asking for help is of no trouble to the captains. On the contrary, the captains are happy to help.
I would like to convey the Guild as a place for personal growth, where it is okay to try and fail. This applies to everything from Fuksi committees to studies. You learn a lot of the things that are gonna carry you through life in university and in order to learn you have to try.
Final thing I’d like to pass on to the fuksis is the sincere sense of community that I fell in love with in Otaniemi. Especially within the Guild but also between the Organizations and in the grand scale of the Teekkari community.
I’m not very picky about my choice for clocking, but often it is a sparkling beverage from a can. If I had to choose, I would have to pick the Hartwall Double Salted Vichy (Mörkö-vichy).

Fukseille välittäisin seuraavat kolme asiaa.
Yhteenkuuluvuus teekkareihin ja Fyysikkokiltaan: Fuksien tulee tuntea itsensä tervetulleiksi, löytää oma paikkansa ja tuntea olevansa osa yhteisöämme. Tämä on velvollisuuteni fukseilleni.
Teekkarien ja Fyysikkokillan taianomaiset perinteet: Perinteemme ovat ainutlaatuisen erinomaisia, siksi fukseille on ojennettava teekkariuden soihtu liittäen heidät tuhatvuotiseen jatkumoon. Tämä on velvollisuuteni teekkariudelle.
Ikimuistoinen fuksivuosi: En voi taata fuksivuodesta elämän parasta vuotta kaikille fukseilleni, mutta vähintään ikimuistoisen siitä voin tehdä. Tämä on velvollisuuteni itselleni.
Lopuksi vielä myönnän suosikkikellotettavani olevan ehdottomasti puoli litraa vettä! Fuksiryhmämme kämppäapprolla huomattiin nesteytyksen tarve, mikä innotti moiseen kellotukseen. Suosittelen kokeilemaan!

and thank you for your tantalizing questions! Despite my cat allergy, I consider myself a cat person, although I deem it not impossible that I change into a dog person either.
To the fuksis, I would pass on the following three things.
A sense of belonging to teekkaris and the Guild of Physics: Fuksis need to feel welcomed, find their place and feel part of our community. This is my obligation to my fuksis.
The magical traditions of teekkaris and the Guild of Physics: Our traditions are uniquely excellent, therefore the torch of teekkarius must be passed on to the fuksis, joining them to the thousand-year continuum. This is my obligation to teekkarius.
An unforgettable fuksi year: I cannot guarantee all my fuksis the best year of their lives, but I can at least make it unforgettable. This is my obligation to myself.
Finally, I will admit that my favourite thing to be clocked is definitely a pint of water! The need for hydration was noticed during our fuksi group’s flat crawl, which inspired such a clocking. I recommend to try it!
